Long Stand-Collar Shirt & Straight-Leg Trouser Set — Two-Piece Co-ord

A two-piece co-ord built on a long, stand-collar shirt and a matching pair of straight-leg trousers. The shirt is the statement: it drops from a neat mandarin collar past the knee to mid-calf, closes with a concealed front placket, and is cinched at the waist with a wide self-tie sash. A long side split keeps it wearable rather than restrictive, so it moves with you instead of wrapping around your legs. The trousers are cut straight from hip to hem with a wide, unstructured leg opening — no tapering, no cling — and a pressed crease down the front of each leg.

The fabric is a fluid, matte weave with a fine surface grain rather than a shine. It falls heavily and holds a fold, which is what lets the shirt stay long without looking limp and lets the trousers keep their line. Photographed in five colourways: Grass Green, Black, Blue, Sky Blue and Gray.

Why this set works

• A shirt that reads as a dress, but isn't. At 130–134 cm from the shoulder it lands at mid-calf, so you can wear it buttoned and belted as a single long line, or open over the matching trousers as a light layer.

Size guide

These are the supplier's published measurements for this set, in centimetres with inches alongside. It is made in five sizes: S, M, L, XL and 2XL. Chest, shoulder, waist, hip and leg opening are garment measurements taken all the way around — not body measurements. Compare them with the same measurement taken on a garment you already own.

How to read it: the trouser waist is the figure that decides your size — it runs 66 cm at S to 82 cm at 2XL, in 4 cm steps. The shirt is cut loose, so most people can wear their usual size in both pieces without any compromise. Both the shirt and the trousers are cut long: the shirt finishes at mid-calf and the trousers are designed to sit at, or just off, the floor. If you are under about 165 cm, expect the trousers to need a hem.

Fit and how to wear it

• Wear it as one long line. Button the shirt, knot the sash at the front, and the shirt alone reads as a dress. The trousers are only visible below the hem — which is exactly how it is styled in the photographs.
• Or as a light layer. Leave the shirt open over the trousers with the sash loose at the sides. The side split lets the front panels move apart as you walk.
• The cuffs. The sleeves finish in a gathered, shirred cuff band rather than a plain hem — a small detail that keeps the cuff neat on the wrist and echoes the banding at the trouser hem.
• On height. This set is cut long by design. The shirt finishes at mid-calf and the trousers are intended to reach the floor. If you are not wearing heels and you are under roughly 165 cm, plan on having the trousers taken up.
• On shoes. Because the trousers are long and wide, they sit best over a heel or a covered shoe with some height. Very flat shoes will let the hem pool.

The cloth is a fluid, matte weave with a fine surface grain. It does not shine — the light sits on it rather than bouncing off it — and it falls heavily enough to keep the shirt's long line and the trousers' crease. Both pieces are unlined and the fabric reads as opaque in the photographs.

Care

• Wash cool — 30 °C or below — on a gentle or hand-wash cycle.
• Do not bleach.
• Hang to dry away from direct sunlight; do not tumble dry.
• Iron on a low setting, and test on an inside hem first — a hot iron can leave a shine on a matte weave.

Is this two pieces or one dress?
Two separate pieces — a long stand-collar shirt and a pair of straight-leg trousers. The price is for the set.

Can I wear the pieces separately?
Yes. The shirt works on its own as a long tunic over jeans or leggings, and the trousers work with a plain knit or a fitted top. You are not buying an outfit you can only wear one way.

How long is the shirt, exactly?
130 cm from the shoulder in S, stepping up 1 cm per size to 134 cm in 2XL. On most people that is mid-calf.

Does the belt come with it?
The sash is part of the shirt — a wide fabric tie that comes from the same cloth, not a separate leather belt. The trousers have no belt loops.

Is it see-through?
The fabric reads as opaque in the photographs, including in the lighter colourways. Because it is a light weave, a dark underlayer can show through in strong backlight, so pair it with something neutral underneath if that concerns you.
